The Destination
A charming township just north of Wilmington, West Dover is stationed among the sugar maples of the Green Mountain National Forest. Here in the heart of Southern Vermont, you can delight in the winter mountain scenery as you take in Alpine skiing, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, tubing, and snow shoeing.

The Digs
Built in 1846 as a tavern and stagecoach stop, West Dover Inn stands at the center of town as the area's oldest continuously operating inn. Step into another era as you walk on the pumpkin pine floors and peruse the antiques throughout the hotel. Each guest room has a private bathroom, Internet access, and comes decorated with antiques, and some of the rooms even boast fireplaces and Jacuzzi tubs. The inn boasts a newly renovated bar—ideal for sipping and socializing.

The Diversions
The friendly staff will provide you with credits and maps to help you ski and hike in Green Mountain National Forest or on Mount Snow, but the hospitality doesn't stop there. At the inn's 1846 Tavern & Restaurant, Chef Kyle transforms seasonal produce, vegetables from local farms, and fresh seafood flown in overnight from Browne Trading in Portland, Maine, into culinary works of art. The tavern even provides live music every night and more than 30 craft beers on tap, so you won't need to leave the inn to have a fantastic evening.

  • Very clean and comfy, friendly and helpful innkeepers, and just an overall nice place to stay.
