The Destination
Famous for its Adriatic shoreline and Roman architecture—like the Arco d'Augusto, built by the Romans in 27 BC—Rimini's breathtaking landscape is rife with historic sites and gorgeous beaches. Explore a side of this Italian city that tourists rarely see with a guided cycling trip through the countryside via the folks from Battaglin-USA.

During your getaway, you'll pedal up hills and coast into valleys along many of the same routes followed by the Giro d'Italia—a world-class cycling event held annually—as you pass beneath lush olive trees and above dramatic beaches on a scenic ride. You're also welcome to forego the biking portions of the trip and travel as a non-cyclist. No matter what you choose, all travelers will enjoy a local winery and farm for tastings and an Italian cooking class. Plus, when you're ready to kick back, your four-star accommodations at a seaside hotel boast plenty of luxe amenities.

Sample Cycling Itinerary for Any Level
Your trip will be tailored to your ability level. For additional information, view the detailed sample itinerary and watch this video.

This itinerary is an example. Each cyclist together with Battaglin-USA guides and advisors will build his or her own itinerary depending on skill level, experience, goals, and expectations. Battaglin-USA is able to accommodate any level, from the novice to the seasoned professional.

day 1: Arrive at the Rimini Federico Fellini International Airport or another nearby airport for a transfer to your oceanside luxury accommodations (please contact Battaglin-USA for any questions regarding airport or transportation needs). Settle in for a welcome lunch or dinner at the hotel's signature restaurant before spending the rest of the day at your own leisure.
Overnight at a four-star hotel. Lunch or dinner is provided.

day 2: Start the day off right with gourmet breakfast prepared by the hotel chef. Then, you'll ease into the trip with your first ride—your mileage and duration will depend on your skill level. The ride is designed to help you get acquainted with the area. After a healthy snack, relax and gather for a review of the day and a briefing on the upcoming itinerary. The meals prepared throughout your stay—including the snacks—focus on the fundamentals of healthy living and include a wide variety of fresh and authentic Italian dishes.
Overnight at a four-star hotel. Breakfast, snack, and dinner provided.

day 3: Today you have the chance to see the amazing coastline as well as the beautiful countryside with its rolling hills and historic towns. After cycling, you'll get a chance to rest, then head to the wellness center for a sauna session and Turkish bath. In addition to various herbal teas, you'll also enjoy a homemade carbohydrate- and protein-rich meal intended to replace the calories burned during the day's activities.
Overnight at a four-star hotel. Breakfast, snack, and dinner provided.

day 4: Unwind from three days of cycling with a more leisurely paced day. The length and intensity of today's ride depends on the group. Ride on flat to medium-hilly roads that connect picturesque, historic towns. Stop to chat with locals or enjoy an Italian espresso at a café. The afternoon will be dedicated to rest and a sauna session or Turkish bath at your leisure.
Overnight at a four-star hotel. Breakfast, snack, and dinner provided.

day 5: Your last day of cycling will highlight the best roads Italy has to offer. Postcard-worthy views will greet you at every turn as you navigate along Italy's coastline, through picturesque towns, and over rolling hills. Once you've taken time to rest and recuperate, swap stories over a hearty dinner.
Overnight at a four-star hotel. Breakfast, snack, and dinner provided.

day 6: Finish your active adventure with a visit to a local winery and farm for tastings and an Italian cooking class. (Cooking class and wine tasting will be scheduled depending on weather throughout the week.) Your trip may conclude here, but you'll leave Italy with an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and memories to last a lifetime.
