Just a hop across the sea—especially for flights from the West Coast—China offers limitless once-in-a-lifetime moments. Three words: Bring a camera.

The Destination
A multifaceted, modern country with more than 5,000 years of history, China is difficult to capture in words. From the mega metropolises of Beijing and Shanghai to the quiet corners of reflection in Suzhou that have inspired poets and artists for centuries, more than a billion people call this varied countryside home. Travelers can see the past reflected in the solid gaze of a jade Buddha and the stony towers of the Great Wall of China, or catch a glimpse of the future in the space-age architecture of the Beijing National Stadium. Between strolling the open expanses of the Forbidden City and watching giant pandas roll in the snow at the famous Beijing Zoo, every visit to this vast land is the trip of a lifetime.

Monoliths of a dynasty spanning centuries. A swarming sea of humanity. The quiet soul of ancient tradition. You won't forget one minute of the ride when you stay in luxury hotels and travel with the dedicated guides from Rewards Travel China.

The Itinerary
Day 1: Depart for Beijing
Depart from your US location on the overnight flight to Beijing.

Day 2: Arrive in Beijing
Your local guide will welcome you upon touchdown in Beijing and transfer you to your hotel. You'll have the rest of the day to relax and rest up from your long flight.
Overnight at Wanda Realm Beijing.

Day 3: Explore Beijing
Today, your adventure begins. Meet the might of imperial China at the Forbidden City, a palace complex where dozens of emperors lived and ruled for more than half a century. Just outside the towering gates, you'll fast-forward to more recent history in the sprawling Tiananmen Square. After lunch, wander in the cool shade at the Summer Palace, the emperor's private resort of lush gardens and exquisite architecture beside a placid lake. Finish with a stop at Pearl City, where you'll find the iridescent spheres in a range of shapes and sizes for you to peruse.
Overnight at Wanda Realm Beijing. Breakfast and lunch provided.

Day 4: The Great Wall
Start your day by snapping shots of the unique exteriors of the Beijing National Stadium (nicknamed the "Bird's Nest") and the Beijing National Aquatics Center (the "Water Cube") and spending some time looking over a wide variety of jade pieces. Then, you'll head to the awe-inspiring Great Wall in the afternoon, undulating for thousands of miles over the hills outside of Beijing.
Overnight at Wanda Realm Beijing. Breakfast and lunch provided.

Day 5: Travel to Suzhou
Reflect on all you've seen so far during a free day in Beijing. In the evening, you'll board your domestic flight to Shanghai and be transferred to Suzhou, about an hour away by bus.
Overnight at Grand Metro Park Hotel Suzhou. Breakfast provided.

Day 6: The Gardens of Suzhou
The Venice of the East, Suzhou is veined with serene canals overshadowed by classic architecture and lush gardens. Tour the blooming Lingering Garden after breakfast; then, stop by the country's largest silk factory to learn more about the handling of this delicate material. In the evening, you'll enjoy a picturesque cruise down ancient canals before heading to Hangzhou via bus.
Overnight at Grand Metro Park Hotel Hangzhou. Breakfast and lunch provided.

Day 7: Hangzhou's Lakeside Leisure
Hangzhou is renowned for its natural beauty, most notably the shimmering expanse of West Lake, a classic example of Asian gardening esthetic. Take in lovely views of the serene waters before sampling green tea at a plantation; after lunch, you'll drive back to Shanghai and stop by the shores of the Huangpu River to admire the vibrant cityscape at night.
Overnight at Renaissance Shanghai Putuo Hotel. Breakfast and lunch provided.

Day 8: Shanghai
A dazzling column of international architecture and high finance along the river, the Bund is a fascinating place for people watching. Soak up its electric energy before heading to the staggeringly ancient displays at the Shanghai Museum and the surrounding People's Square. After lunch, you'll visit a market selling traditional Chinese arts and crafts—a good place to pick up any souvenirs you've had an eye on. Finish the last night of your trip with an amazing show of Chinese acrobatics.
Overnight at Renaissance Shanghai Putuo Hotel. Breakfast and lunch provided.

Day 9: Return to US
Say your goodbyes over breakfast—today, you'll be transferred to the Shanghai airport for your return flight back to the US.
