According to the research of nonprofit organization NMX, 90% of kids want to try extreme sports. But how many actually get the opportunity? Just 20%. The expenses and time associated with sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and skateboarding mean many kids never get a shot at the slopes or half-pipes, but NMX seeks to change that. Through getaways and retreats, workshops, fundraising 5Ks, and other organized events, the 501(c)(3) opens the heart-racing world of extreme sports up to brave youngsters with a variety of backgrounds.
