Training Philosophy

At Dixon Firearms Training, Ayvrie Dixon emphasizes the importance of safety and responsibility. Ayvrie is certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety as a Certified Handgun Instructor, as well as by the NRA as a pistol instructor, chief range safety officer and personal protection inside the home instructor. Her goal is to help every student understand their responsibility as a gun owner.

Course Overviews

Basic pistol courses introduce the fundamentals of handling and maintaining a handgun. Hands-on teaching helps familiarize students with various types of pistols in a controlled setting. During concealed-carry courses, the DPS-certified instructor covers the legal statutes and practical information needed to apply for a concealed-handgun license. Additionally, Ayvrie offers private lessons.
