About Darna Restaurant

The word "darna" is an Arabic word meaning "our home," and the owners of Darna Restaurant have taken the phrase "el dar darak"—our home is your home—to heart. They encourage diners to treat their restaurant as if it was their own home, and settle in for a meal of authentic food that, no matter your heritage, feels familiar and comforting. Head Chef Michel Dawaliby takes the best traditional cuisines from North Africa to the Gulf to construct his menu of Middle Eastern dishes, such as charcoal grilled salmon kabobs, traditional bazella lamb with peas and tomato, and desserts of halawite el jibne, or sweet cheese and pistachios. Guests can also sip creative libations from a craft cocktail list devised by beverage director Eric Tollar. Upstairs, sensuous mood lighting, soft music, and plumes of hookah smoke illuminate a lounge.

Great food, good price. This restaurant is a well-kept secret for dinner - very few go, and it is both quiet and tasty. Plus, there's a hooka bar upstairs for those who like it.

Really good food and atmosphere. The Lounge upstairs looks cool too! Definitely coming back for some Mezzas and Lebanese beer!

What they need there, besides people, is some light to read the menu. Nice atmosphere, otherwise. The food is very good and the prices mostly very fair. We had three small plates and one entree to split between two. Plenty of food. The bread is delicious and plentiful, which is used to scoop up almost everything. The fried Holumi cheese at $7, was the only non starter, four small rounds of the stuff and not especially good. We had the first entree listed under traditional dishes, a rice, beef combination, to which you added in the yogurt served on the side. Delicious. Wine list is unfortunately overpriced. Had a bottle of a Lebanese Cabernet/Merlot blend. Very decent, but not worth the $36. Price the wines fairly and people will buy lots of it.

There is a hooka lounge upstairs and an indoor Resteraunt downstairs. Each with their own menu. We are downstairs. Food and serve were good.
