About Haunted Tales

A night at Haunted Tales features a slew of scary stories about the Jersey Devil and real pirates. The special effects theater shows creepy tales of real local pirates that are said to still haunt the Jersey Shore and the story of the rarely glimpsed Jersey Devil. But slowly, elements of the tales begin to come to life right there in the theater: the sea breeze starts to blow; water splashes across viewers. Some say the Jersey Devil itself makes an appearance. Afterward, guests who aren't too shaken are offered the chance to relax—permanent style—in the Double Coffin Simulation Ride, in which participants are closed inside a coffin and listen to a bone-chilling story as the coffin moves and shakes along with the tale's progression. The experience recreates being buried alive right down to the smell and the earthworms complaining about their noisy new neighbors.
