Since it was carved out of the California countryside in 1960, Auburn Valley Golf Course has built a reputation as a hidden gem in the Sierra Foothills. The 18-hole championship course challenges golfers with one test after another: two of the course's longest holes crop up early at numbers three and five, and the entire back nine incorporates water. Before tackling these hurdles, though, players can get a little practice. They're invited to perfect their swing on a grass driving range, or visit the putting green, which is lighted so balls don't have to wear little mining helmets. Before and after rounds, guests can also pop into the Valley View Grille for food and drinks.

This is a fantastic course tucked away in the Sierra Foothills. Really enjoyed the staff and pace of play. Greens were in fantastic shape as well.

The course is in great condition as of mid-May. Always a big challenge, but also always fun to play. Not a good wet weather course--it doesn't drain well and gets very bog-like.

Course is set in a beautiful valley but it was pretty soggy due to all the rain. Would definitely go again.

The day we played some holes were very wet do to heavey rains this year. I,ve played this course around six times a year for several years . The staff has always been great and the course is well kept.It's one of my favorite courses!
