Thank you for being "senior friendly."

Most all food was cooked absolutely perfectly, but it was bland, some even with the accompanying sauces. Fried oysters were saved by sauce alone, but the mahi mahi & steak had no flavor. The shrimp was overcooked & tough. I never leave shrimp on a plate, and left two of the three I was served. Portions were more than generous. Presentation of all dishes was lack-luster and did not seem to be a focused point of pride or something the kitchen takes seriously before sending out dishes, especially true of desserts. The restaurant was busy & there were large tables (never on a wait while I was there), but not enough so to warrant the exceptionally slow service (although friendly & accurate). At this price point, I'm accustomed to receiving more flavorful food, more attention to detail, and more attentive service. Perhaps if ordering from the primary menu, there are better options than the prix fixe menu created for this Groupon offer. However, having had three dishes not up to par, I wouldn't chance it again. For this sort of promotion that could gain you loyal patrons, I would make more of an effort to dazzle rather than worrying about profit margin. From someone with years in F&B management, it appeared as though the focus was on how not to lose money on this promotion rather than on putting your best foot forward to gain long-term, repeat customers, which is the entire point of a Groupon offer. I did like the eclectic atmosphere combining upscale food with kitschy decor - pure Austin. You guys are obviously doing a roaring business, and kudos for that. However, my two cents: keep the kitsch, keep the laid-back personalities & the Austin dress code, but do your best make those dishes look & taste like they came out of five-star Michelin kitchen. It's a rare restaurant that can sell atmosphere in the long-run.

the Groupon for "meal for two" was over priced based on comparison to the rest of the menu and the dish was not even that good. We had the fish.

They ripped us off and there was a piece of paper found in my mashed potatoes. They knew that we were using a groupon when we arrived to the location since I had made a reservation and stated so, yet the hostess provided us with the regular menu. When the waiter came by and we started to order, I informed him again that we had the groupon. He looked confused and then said that the groupon had a different menu. He went to the back and came out with the new menu. It only had 3 salads to choose from, 2 entrees, and 3 desserts. This new menu had no prices shown anywhere. We had seen the regular menu and the item I wanted was $36.98 and had much more than the item I ended up ordering which showed as $42 on the receipt. The salads and the desert prices did not vary from the regular menu and my receipt (can't complain there.) They jacked the price of the entree up and gave us half as much as the regular menu had! I paid $50 to receive $115 worth of food. In no way was what I received $115 worth. They adjusted the price of the entree in order to make it be $115. The entrees which we received should have been $20-$25 each not $42 each.Plus my food had a frkn piece of paper in it. I couldn't even finish my meal when I found it. So gross.

so much for them to work on that a mere email couldn't possibly cover it...

The shrimp had no flavor. Marinating them for a while before grilling would help. The lemon tart had a nice crust and lots of wonderful meringue but I could not taste the lemon curd! Everything else we had was excellent. Loved the music, decor and outside patio.

The wait staff just pushes the most expensive item.
