The Chef-designed dinner was a disappointment. Although the beef tenderloin was fine, there was something wrong with the consistency of the mahi-mahi, not mealy, but we could not quite put our finger on it. I just really wasn't good; my partner left most of it on his plate. It's too bad too because we've always liked this place. The table near the kitchen is visually unappealing. Staring at a mop bucket was not high on our agenda.

Yes. 1) We were charged a $6 split entree fee, but we had to split it. When you are brought the entree on one plate, and then you are given an empty plate to split it up yourself, you shouldn't be charged an extra fee. And, we weren't told we would be charged.
2) Tell the customer how much the specials cost. It seems a little shady. We had the ribeye special, and assumed it would be comparable in price to the ribeye on the menu. The special was an additional $7. And, then we had the split charge on top of that.
3) The waiter asked me if I wanted another drink, but didn't ask my wife. Then, when he brought me the new drink, my wife's glass was completely empty and he still didn't ask. I had to call him back to the table and tell hm she wanted another drink. It was only her second one. So, there was no inebration issue.
Ranch 616 is one of my favorites, but these things made the experience less enjoyable.

A little pricey, especially items off the 'specials of the day' menu.

I love your oysters but some had a couple of tough chewy spots in the oysters I think. Ot was not the way they were cooked.

I feel you cheated me by what I received for what I payed for the value you claimed for that Blk Mahi is not a dish valued at over $40 dollars which the waiter handed me a bill that claimed the item at I am very unhappy with Ranch 616 and I am sure I am not the only one you should refund me for your dishonesty!!

We went for dinner during SXSW. We were waiting by the host stand and were ignored for several minutes even though the place was nowhere near capacity. The host was rude. He asked us if we'd like to be seated. Why else would we be standing there?! Our server was OK. Not overly friendly but it seemed like she was the only one working that night and was a bit frazzled. I don't think we'll be coming back any time soon. Again, the food is excellent but the staff has an attitude.
