Our guides were really amazing!! They were super fun- we went on a weekday, so it was just us on one raft with 3 other people. This gave us all plenty of time to goof off, and take an enjoyable trip down the river. We even bought passes for another trip. Looking forward to going again soon!

Very nice for a short raft trip down some mild rapids on a hot summer day. My family of four was in the raft with our guide and two other people. They put 5-6 guests in each raft. Keep valuables at home or in car. Your car keys are safely left with employees. You are bused to the landing on the river. The only think I would bring to keep on bus is a water bottle and maybe a towel. Do not bother bringing them on the raft, you could lose it. Bring your Go Pro or waterproof camera, a hat and sunglasses (if you can secure them). . This excursion is great for beginners or kids. Kids enjoyed the make shift slip and slide and lazily floating in the water down the river during the calm stretches. The exit landing was part of a cattle ranch and therefore had cow patties all over the place which made for some messy shoes. RER has a shoe wash station back at base. Wear strap on sandals, water shoes or keens. If you fall out of the raft you could lose a flip flop and you do not want to be barefoot walking to the bus from the river-ew! There were changing rooms and porta potties. They had a water bottle refilling station and offered photo package which we purchased. Well worth it to capture the family memories. It was a great time had by all and recommend it if you are in Bakersfield but do not want drive or raft the upper Kern.
