About Ciao Bella

It's easy to see why Little Italy's Ciao Bella attracts celebrity diners such as Olympian Michael Phelps—and it's even easier to taste why. Chef Tony Gambino is simply a magician when it comes to Italian cuisine. His creations range from traditional eggplant parmigiana and house-made gnocchi in vodka sauce to funkier dishes, such as escargot in a garlic and basil-butter marinade.

Chef Tony takes a very hands-on approach to everything at Ciao Bella, going so far as to pinch his cooks' cheeks when they do a good job. He even created the wine list himself, an array of more than 40 labels from across Italy, as well as New World wines from Napa and Sonoma Valley. He also helped pick the restaurant's leaders—they're all his relatives, making this a truly family-run eatery.

Every thing is always at The Now called Lew Bambinos formerly Cia Bella. Lisa one of the owners was absolutely fantastic. I am looking forward to eating there again. Lisa suggested a Kale and Ceasar mixed salad that was really good.

The food was well-prepared and plentiful--the warm bread was delicious and the server was prompt and helpful in explaining the specials of the day. However, the unavailability of lasagna on the menu was disappointing. This has been a wonderful restaurant to dine at for many years; let's hope that its successor will carry on Ciao Bella's fine reputation in Little Italy.

my wife and I have enjoyed this restaurant for years. The food and service are excellent and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality. The owner is a true gentleman. The restaurant has also undergone some refurbishing which further enhanced the dining experience.
