What a gem of a museum! So much Baltimore history - and much of it I didn't know. I wish I'd known about this resource when my children were younger.

Very unique collection of Maryland artifacts. The staff was friendly and informative. My 8 year old granddaughter enjoyed the Colonial Fashion Exhibit and opportunity to “dress” the mannequins. Reasonable pricing and good family destination.

This museum is a real treasure! Great gift shop! Great fashion exhibit, local quilting exhibit. Just magnificent!

They have the most interesting exhibits related to Baltimore and Maryland. "In Full Glory Reflected" is a comprehensive lesson in MD's role in the War of 1812, with many unique artifacts related to that period.
The more recent exhibit relating to MD's role in the Civil War was informative no matter what your level of knowledge of that timeframe.
And don't forget the extensive research library, containing documents, photos, art, books and periodicals!

So much local history, especially African American history. It was well preserved. My favorites were the civil war exhibit and the civil rights photography.
