About Kentucky Railway Museum

A loud whistle sounds off in the distance, signaling the arrival of a diesel locomotive. The train pulls past dozens of trees and into the station. It’s just another day at the Kentucky Railway Museum, where new and restored trains take visitors on nostalgic journeys through the New Haven countryside. The stationary exhibit hall—a replica of the original New Haven depot—houses a collection of railroad artifacts and memorabilia ranging from rail carts and dining cars to steam whistles and the discarded mustaches of malevolent railroad barons.

We really loved riding the train. The grandboys enjoyed it a lot. The museum was small but a lot of items inside.

The museum was a delight for me and our grandchildren. So much memorabilia and model trains. The room-long layout was particularly impressive with many visual treasures to discover. The train ride from New Haven to Boston and back was a pleasant experience tat enthralled my younger grandson. The museum is well worth the time and effort to visit. We may go again for an extended tour of the rolling stock on the grounds.

In case of rain take an umbrella. There is 15 to 20 minute stop in Boston. We got soaked!
