About Willow Hill Golf Course

The nine holes of Willow Hill Golf Course sprawl across 87 grassy acres before the scenic backdrop of the Chicago skyline. The par 35 course conjures up visions of the early days of golf with a Scottish links-style design winding for 2,895 yards through low rolling hills and dense rough, left high to punish errant shots and provide cover for napping golfers mid-game. Before or after a round, players can work on finesse around the greens at the 100-yard short-game practice area, or hone their hacks on the driving range, where all 40 stations mimic strokes off the fairway with grass hitting surfaces.

Course at a Glance:

  • 9-hole, par 35 course
  • Total length of 2,895 yards from the back tees
  • Course rating of 34.2 from the back tees
  • Course slope of 118 from the back tees
  • Three sets of tees per hole

This is a GREAT 9 hole course, like playing over in England or Ireland. if you plan to walk be prepared it's long.. Best to rent a cart.. One challenge is when there are golfers ahead of you and they hit their ball in the very high rough. unless you can see it take a drop, that is one challenge people have to wait and watch those ahead climbing and trying to find their ball. and should they find it they try and hit and it goes no where and they end up throwing it out anyway. Just enjoy the course and the great view . For a park district course this is way over 5 stars.

I’ve been playing this golf course for many years. This was my first time this year & I was disappointed in the general upkeep compared to past seasons. The greens were in good shape, but the tee boxes & areas off the fairways next to the cart paths were in fairly poor condition. Sort of an eyesore. Nevertheless I enjoyed the round since it wasn’t busy. 1 1/2 hrs to walk

Course is set up Great.. though on this visit they had started to cut down the tall weeds and grasses. The only other issue is people if they hit it into the tall grass and weeds, they need to be told unless you can see the ball take a drop, instead of having everyone in your party or you alone trying to find it. There seems not to be a "ranger" checking to see why people are playing slow.
