About Pack Leader Dog Academy

Evelyn Coons watched the images of dispossessed pets appear during the news segments on Hurricane Katrina. An animal lover her whole life, she couldn't look at the coverage and not help. She ventured to Second Chance At Love in California, a no-kill shelter that took in 30 dogs who had lost their homes in the hurricane. While volunteering there, she learned from the shelter's founder Cheri Lucas, a practitioner of the training methods developed by "The Dog Whisperer," Cesar Milan.

Now with her own training school, Evelyn continues teaching Milan's methods, helping clients to understand their dogs' innate desires to be well-mannered socialites who always hold their wine glass by the stem. Additional services include treadmill and park sessions to give energetic pooches a safe, structured exercise program. With a particular fondness for pit bulls, she and her husband also rehabilitate dogs rescued in the Tulsa area.
