About Back Bay Bicycles

Bay Back Bicycles caters to every type of rider, whether they're simply looking for a quick way to get to the grocery store or are competing in a triathlon. The shop offers everything riders need to take to the streets, from cycling apparel and helmets to the bikes themselves—including options with an electronic drivetrain to make shifting easy in any terrain, whether pavement or quicksand. If you already own a bike but it's in need of repairs, a team of technicians can fix brakes or refit new wheels to keep you rolling in optimum condition. Then, once you're back on two wheels, you can join one of the shop's group rides to zoom around town with like-minded neighbors.

Richard the mechanic took the time to teach me about some bike components. He was very understanding, made good recommendations, got the work done on my bike really quickly (keep in mind this was in early March - it may get really busy once the weather gets warmer), and went out of his way to help. He also let me know what sort of fixes my bike might need in the future and was respectful of my budget. He wasn't pushy and seemed honest. You can tell he loves his job. The shop is easy to miss from the outside because you don't see much (it has a small sign and you have to go downstairs from street level to get to it). The people there are friendly (the cute well behaved dog is too).
