About New England Home Show

Domestics and imports. Cars, vans, and trucks. Economy vehicles and luxury super cars from the likes of Lamborghini and Maserati. Somehow, the organizers have managed to fit the entire world of automobiles into the New England International Auto Show—and just like fitting a whole burrito in your mouth, it required careful coordination to pull off.

To make the event possible, more than 30 car manufacturers arrive from far and wide, filling the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center with the latest models from names such as BMW, Ford, and Honda. Manufacturer representatives happily chat about their vehicles, and they encourage interactivity: sitting in the cars, popping the hood, even taking select models out for test drives. Attendees can also check out the "green scene", which showcases electric, hybrid, and fuel-efficient cars.

It was an easy way to look at and sit in many of the autos that are on our list for a new car (as well as our fantasy cars). Experiencing them at a show was much more pleasurable than going through the nonsense of going through various dealers.

I wish there were more car makes (i.e. Mazda) and that there were informational sessions about the new technology in the new models. The people that were there representing each car makes weren't proactive in showing off car models or informing participants about the new models.
