Excellent and very thorough presentation of the deep ship building history along the Coast of Maine right in the shadow of Maine's largest modern yard. Sorry that we couldn't go outdoors to see all the exhibits, but look forward to returning there someday in warmer weather.

I enjoyed the current exhibit on the Portland waterfront and the short video on the tugs that bring the oil tankers into the harbor. The head of that company gave a 30-minute presentation on Peaks Island that I can't recommend highly enough. If you could have him at an event in Bath, it might be a great fund-raiser. He was superb and his slides were outstanding. I especially appreciated his discussion of how he talks to the oil tanker captains, many of whom English is a second language. Also, the description of how to talks to the crew int he tugboat as he himself pilots the oil tanker into the harbor was very revealing.

Wish they'd let us decide if the weather was too bad to have the yard open - it was an overcast but decent day, before the snow and cold...and yard was closed. Said we could come back within 7 days but our schedule didn't allow and weather was way cold and snowy by then anyway. Very beautiful museum, impressive displays and nice giftshop,
