About Matrix Sports Camp

Gary and Tracy Heilers fell in love at sports camp in 1991—not just with each other but also with athletic training as a way of learning discipline and leadership skills. That's why today, they direct a sports camp of their own: Matrix Sports Camp. Designed for Chicagoland youngsters entering 2nd through 9th grade, the camp covers 20 sports total, from American classics such as baseball to overseas staples such as rugby. Their longer five-day camp encompasses three sports-training sessions per day, as well as character-building activities such as journaling, yoga, and personal values mentoring. Through this dual approach, the directors hope to improve students' mental and emotional strength as well as their physical condition.
