Kung fu guru Stephon Morton began taking martial arts classes at the age of 8. Since then, he has competed on and coached for the U.S. Wushu Team and founded Northern Virginia Wushu Academy. There, he and his staff teach classic and contemporary kung fu to ages 5 and older. Depending on the class level—beginner, intermediate, or advanced—students learn bare hand techniques such as Long Fist or more advanced techniques with staffs, swords, and other backscratchers.
