The opposite of McDojo's. The Krav instructors are well versed in practical self-defense scenarios.

If you are a woman, call ahead for a female partner. Usually there is one there any way, but if you are nervous about trying something new, you can call ahead. Great place to meet lots of nice men too.

Wear socks and sandals, and bring copious amounts of water.

Bring water and be ready to sweat.

Silverback Academy is a great place to learn martial arts! The instructors are very friendly and helpful; in addition the atmosphere is very non-threatening for new inexperienced participants. Even after one lesson you feel like you really learned something that you can take home as opposed to other regimens that spend weeks on simple redundant exercises that provide very little in terms of growth. Would definitely recommend this establishment.

It was a wonderful experience, I'm hooked on taking those classes!
