Maks & Val: Stripped Down Tour, Chicago
Maks & Val: Stripped Down Tour, ChicagoAbout Maks & Val: Stripped Down Tour
Art, dance, comedy, and theater collaborate to showcase thrilling works inside the Athenaeum Theatre, one of the oldest continuously operating off-Loop theaters in Chicago. When the building flung open its doors in 1911 on the campus of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, it was used as a community center to bolster artistic appreciation and education and introduce Chicago to the world's first music, Morse code. Today, single musicians and groups share their melodies and playwrights display their latest scripts in one of four theaters, entertaining up to 984 audience members at once. Funny-bone ticklers and lecturing speakers also enlighten moods and minds with shows inside a 55-person reception room.
