Sixpax, Chicago4.58 reviewsAbout Sixpax
Fayth Caruso has studied ballet, jazz, and tap dance, training that helped her earn a BFA in dance and led to her first choreographed piece, "In Human Form." Her fascination with the human form—its alignment, its musculature, and its ability to resist injury—also shines at Sixpax, her Pilates-centric fitness studio which has moved to a new location on Michigan Avenue. The group classes center on strengthening the core strengthening and building lean muscle. Mat classes, meanwhile, rely more heavily on bodyweight exercises and props, such as Bosu balls, resistance bands, and mini trampolines ideal for raising heart rates and turning regular beans into jumping beans. As an alternative or complement to group classes, personal training sessions blend a variety of Pilates styles with client-specific modifications during one-on-one sessions.
