That scenario perplexes Practical Arms founder and director Mark Williams, because knowing how to safely store and operate a firearm requires ongoing training and practice. That's why he and his fellow instructors draw upon their wealth of expertise to train novice and experienced visitors. Boasting multiple training certifications from organizations such as the North Carolina Department of Justice—plus experience training law-enforcement personnel from agencies such as the FBI and ATF—Mark oversees classes that adhere to NRA curricula, such as the NRA basic pistol-shooting course and home-defense classes. In addition to instructing students in the safe use of firearms, Mark and his team maintain a welcoming, nonthreatening atmosphere.

Have taken other firearms training, none as complete as I received from Mark with Practical Arms. Highly recommend taking his Concealed Carry class, well worth the investment in your personal safety.

My wife and I took the concealed carry course. Had a great experience. Knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful instructors. Very patient with 1st time gun owners/shooters. Learned the basics of NC laws, safe handling of a weapon, and how to properly take care of it. Range time was instructional and fun. Definitely recommend it, and look forward to continued learning with Practical Arms. 5 Stars!!

Absolutely wonderful! Mark is a great teacher and funny! Knowledge is power and I’m here for it! Would definitely recommend his course! For it to be 8 hours it wasn’t bad at all!

Mark is awesome! The best around. I would highly recommend taking this class. I have 2 times. He is experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to NC law and owning a hand gun.
