Small park like
It's good for families. It was kind of a far drive from central Houston, but it was a beautiful property and very serene. They have a great local CSA program, so we went to see where our food came from. The zip line was just a bonus! :)
It's really low key, but my family and I had a blast. It was nice and serene out there with enough activities for the kids to enjoy. Good food too. The staff were very nice and helpful.
Wood Duck was great for my 2 kids, age 6 and 2. Really fun.
Great value! I expected to pay extra for activities (like everywhere else) and was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was all included. Kids (11,11,16) enjoyed the zip line, corn maze, hayride, face painting, tube swing and other activities. It was nice to see my suburban kids "unplugged" and having a great time. Prices for extras like food, pumpkins, local honey and fresh veggies were really really reasonable. Staff genuinely were enjoying helping and watching people have a good time. It was a GREAT DAY!
All of the personnel were very nice. I would recommend this to any age, mostly bc of the awesome zip line. Younger kids, like 3-7 would really love it
Wear sneakers, bug spray, sun glasses, sun screen
I don't know if they are just starting out but we got there early on Sunday and they were a little disorganized. Some of the staff was really friend and others were like I'm here.
We enjoyed the hay ride, corn maze and the cannon blast. Also the zip line across the pond was awesome. There were only a number of harness and we had to wait for them to bring some over from the other side which added to the wait time.
I suggest more labeling of area, first on the road to get there maybe a sign or two to help you get there since it is isolated wooded area. More staff to give you that 'farm' feeling.
Also, a size variety to the pumpkins - we were looking for a medium and all we saw were table top size and very large.
This farm has a lot of potential - just minor changes to make it more appealing.
It is very laid back. It's not as organized as we thought it would be, nor did it have as many opportunities to do fun things for the kids as we thought. I feel like it's advertised as having so much to do for the kids, but when you get out there it's small. The lines for the zip line were very long and the process to ensure our harnesses were properly fastened was done by volunteers and was VERY slow moving. Driving out there is difficult because it's not clearly marked where to turn.
On the bright side, the zip line was fun when we did it, and the corn maze was short but cute. The people running it were friendly.
One hour driving for nothing, the Wood Duck Farm was not open on a Sunday. ( they supposedly are open on weekends). They really don't care about their customers. Probably they just keep as a farmer's not as a host. Big disappointment for my kids. TWO THUMBS DOWN.
