About MorArt

Local artist and glass master Dan Watts opened the doors of MorArt more than 4 years ago with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that attracted the likes of actress Tippi Hedren of Hitchcock's The Birds fame. After the confetti settled and the balloon outlines of Hitchcock's silhouette popped, Lincoln City was left with a haven for hands-on glass making.

Dan teaches the art of glass fusing during one-on-one sessions or group classes. Equipping students with the tools, materials, and knowledge necessary, he lets them roam free to breathe life into their own refractive creations. Though he remains on-hand for advice, instruction, and assistance, the onus lies on each individual to create a masterpiece worthy of mantel display. Once students finish, Dan fires up his kiln's bedchamber so that each piece can stay and solidify overnight. Masterworks can be shipped for an additional fee, delivered express via the studio's catapult, or picked up from the store along with a few pieces of Dan's original work.

It’s such a fun thing to do creating our own work of art! We like to make this a tradition when we come visit the coast

My friend and I had fun. We were the only two in the class. And at that MorArt had a time keeping us on task without dithering too much about the colors to us and perfection. That was a good thing or we'd still be there. LOL. Seriously they have a nice set, good simple instruction. You get predesigned template (there are over 70 to chose from), and glass pieces cut for your piece after you choose color. It's like paint by number in a way. Very easy to do. Follow the leader and all will be well and you'll get a nice art piece to take home. With the firing needed it is ready for you the next day.

Very relaxing and supportive environment. I brought 5 girls (ages 13-14) and the instructor was calm, clear and yet firm about safety in a positive way that felt comfortable. They got right to work and created beautiful art that will be enjoyed for years to come

I love our art and memory of the experience. Bought a second one even. There was another charge if we wanted to add another color behind the original glass. Still worth it though if we had not added the second color we still would love the project.

A fun experience and for someone with limited artistic skill our projects came out looking pretty good because of the expert guidance they offered. Would love to do it again!
