About Taste of Africa

When chef Isaac Asare and his wife, Gloria, came to the US from Ghana, they brought more than just suitcases. After toting several of their favorite West African recipes, the duo founded Taste of Africa, whose full name—The Ellas Food & Pizza - Taste of Africa—is a loving homage to daughters Isabella, Gabriella, and Daniela. At the BYOB restaurant, Isaac cooks up lamb and spicy beef, but those seeking vegan, vegetarian, or health-focused dishes are in luck too: the menu flourishes with hearty, plant-based dishes like yam-spinach stew and cooked plantains.

Food was delicious and freshly made to order. Restaurant was clean it and the staff was welcoming. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to try something different and enjoys a great, tasty meal experience at a great price.

Very delicious fresh food. Very big portion. The owners and staff very professional and friendly. And suggested food . They were very quick in service for us. Will highly recommend this place to everyone, if you are looking for good , fresh, delicious food. Will go again and again. Love this place.

Definately will be going back the food and service is amazing! I highly recommend any of the fufu, the eggplant, jollaf rice, Palm chick soup, meat pies and the roasted chicken. Judging by what I had so far I'd say everything off the menus great! I'll definitely be going back to try everything else on the menu!

Issac, the owner is very friendly and funny--we felt very welcomed and our visit was fun and entertaining. The food is delicious although very spicy. There are vegan options on the menu! They play upbeat African music and the restaurant has a festive decor. They also sell African clothes and jewelry. I highly recommend this outstanding restaurant.
