The event itself was very well put together, minus the lack of small appetizers. after attending this event I have learned that I'm, unfortunately, not a fan of spicy/smokey drinks

For the first annual Detroit Cocktail Classic, representatives from some of the city's best-beloved drinking establishments showcase the beloved art of cocktail mixing. Those local places include the Oakland Art Novelty Company, hand-crafting original cocktails; the Firebird Tavern, which specializes in old-fashioned drinks; and Two James Spirits, the first distillery to open in Detroit since Prohibition.

Surprisingly generous portions and pours. Honestly, I didn't even get halfway through my allotted drinks before staggering home. I would recommend that next time they stray away from drinks like Manhattans (probably 35% ABV) and focus on the in-between cocktails around 15-20% ABV. Some of them were just too much in the context of that many options. Overall the night was a blast and I'd love to come again.

Many of the vendors/restaurants serving the drinks ran out of their products very early in the event. For example Craft Work was only able to provide a shot of gin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Classic cocktails are suggested for future events.
