My Yoga uses an infrared heat system, the same system used in high-end spa and saunas, to directly heat student's bodies instead of the air around them, providing the opportunity for deeper detox and greater health benefits. The instructors may work solely in the realm of hot yoga, but that doesn't mean their classes are all the same. They lead seven styles of hot yoga classes, including the classic 26-pose series. They also teach the Barkan method—which incorporates standing poses, floor poses, and Vinyasa movements—hot power yoga, and hot Vinyasa. To help students ease into the practice, My Yoga offers a beginner's series at a lower temperature. As students work up a sweat and sink more deeply into stretches as the weeks progress, they gradually increase the studio temperature to 105 degrees for all 75 to 90 minutes of class. However, they make an exception for warm yoga, which offers a slower pace in cooler temperatures, making it ideal for for yetis and those recovering from an intense session.
