About The Eugene Backyard Farmer

The experts at The Eugene Backyard Farmer acknowledge the benefits of living a rural and urban life, and have found a way to combine the two. They deal in products and accessories for urban farming—the practice of applying traditional farming practices to a standard urban property. They supply urban farmers with egg-laying chicks, and specially made chick feed that is free of hormones, steroids, and pesticides. The Eugene Backyard Farmer also carries chicken coops, packaged honeybees, Kenyan- and Warre-style beehives, and raised garden beds.

Amazing bee keeping class and wonderful teacher. The owner is very knowledgeable with a down to earth personality. We came in knowing nothing and left inspired. The two hours first sounded intimidating but the time felt just right. Absolutely recommend

The beekeeping class was very informative. We learned a lot about the habits of bees and how extraordinary these little creatures are. He also talked about the different types of bee hives and the advantages/disadvantages of each sharing his own experiences in using the hives.
