About Las Olas Oktoberfest

Warm pretzels speckled with sea salt. Steins of cold beer. Live music. These are just a few of the reasons to attend Las Olas Octoberfest, an annual bash held in Huizenga Park. The fest draws on the traditions of the original Oktoberfest, a yearly celebration that kicked off in Munich in 1810. One of those traditions is a stein-holding contest, during which contestants lift beer steins with or without the beer-drinker hanging on to the stein's handle.

Not at all a German-style Oktoberfest celebration. Limited food and drink selection. But gorgeous weather and still fun with friends.

For the money of $16.00 each( I bought 4 tickets) there was nothing worthwhile; in reality our beers cost 16.00 each.... what a ripe off. And the was no selection of beers..No I will not be going next year this was a big waste of money. We actually had to leave and spend more money to eat something good.

That was the lamest festival I've ever been to! There was hardly anything there to do. The food was terrible and the drinks were overpriced! This was such a rip-off!

It might have been better if there where several distributors, and more tents. Music was pretty good.

Was not festive. Im Hispanic and even felt the ambiance was too Hispanic. Fall festival s should be culturally inspiring. Not worth going, theres nothing Fall about it.

This was the single worst event I've ever attended. I've enjoyed 10+ beerfests in South Florida over the years & for the $20-$30 admission you know exactly what you are getting, a fun day of beer sampling where the price of admission covers your drinks for the night. Not so with 'Octoberfest' on Las Olas. For the discounted $22 ticket you get 1x$6 beer & the choice was hardly German! About 6 beers to choose from, 3 of them Becks! Once you receive your $22 beer you're expected to pay for everything else after that such as overpriced food & $6 beers/$12 boots. There was no entertainment at all other than 3 year old dance music played so loud we couldn't even talk with our friends. Never again
