About Friendswood Crawfish Festival

The Friendswood Crawfish Festival sprawls through downtown Friendswood, filling the streets with the aromas of boiled seafood, the sounds of live blues and Zydeco music, and the sights of local artisans displaying their wares. They also receive some help from Justin Tolliver, owner of Justin’s Seafood Restaurant. Propelled by his culinary know-how and a generations-old vendetta against the local crawfish population, Tolliver will supply the steaming cauldrons of the festival's namesake food. Pizza, beer, and soft drinks will also be served. However, food won't be the festival's only draw: a crawfish-eating contest will test competitors' stomachs as performances from local musicians provide a rousing soundtrack. The shindig is organized by Tolliver Productions and festival goers are even allowed to bring coolers full of their desired beverage.

Bring cash. On site ATMs have high fees. Not much shade. Bring an umbrella and sun screen. No coolers allowed. No running water to clean up. Small but comfortable atmosphere.

This ticket only gets you in to spend more money. It should be 5.00 per person not 20.00!!!! There were not enough food venders or crafts to spend much time there. You had to buy your crawfish for 8.00 for 1 1/2 and that did not include corn or potatoes or 8.00 for two catfish filets without coleslaw or hushpuppies.

I know that this the only the 2nd year, but there is much room for major improvement! 1- Get more food vendors; 2- Put shade over tables where people eat; 3- Turn entertainment stage toward the grass so that people can sit down or bring lawn chairs and enjoy themselves; 4- Put all vendors on concrete for easy access of disabled individuals, and more stable ground. It could be a really great festival with just a bit more consideration of the people who will attend, and EVERYBODY will have a good time.
