As the owner of Perren's Greener Cleaners, Kevin Perren trains his staff to achieve a trio of lofty goals: dry clean each article of clothing professionally and efficiently, keep services convenient for clients, and avoid practices that might cause harm to the environment. In addition to green dry cleaning with amenities such as same-day service and free pickup and delivery, the company’s supplementary practices range from washing and folding laundry to high-end-alterations and wedding-gown preservation. For each garment, the cleaners employ eco-friendly practices such as using biodegradable solvents and citrus water in place of toxic petrochemicals. They build on this by also recycling hangars, eschewing the use of unnecessary dry-cleaning bags, or filling pockets with gum wrappers.
