The Wine Loft's sommeliers build their selection on a simple principle: variety. Drawing from more than 85 wines by the glass and 250 by the bottle, they nimbly suggest either wines to complement a dish or foods to complement a wine. Although the bulk of their list hails from California, notes from France, Argentina, Italy, and Spain also make an appearance, adding an international appeal that mirrors the food menu. Here, shareable plates draw influence from Italy and the rest of Europe, pairing artisanal cheese boards with herbed lamb lollipops and coffee-rubbed beef tenderloin. And since both food and drink go well with jazz, performers take the stage three to four nights a week.

From the flooring to the light fixtures, The Wine Loft's decor offers a study in the earthy tones associated with viticulture. Candles, carpet, and throw pillows dazzle with shades of gold while the furnishings lean to the darker side with a mix of umber and brown. The resulting pastiche fades into the background, allowing the colors of the food and the flavors of the wine to take center stage.
