Call ahead to check on the average depth of the river. There are some gravel bars which might require portage and wet feet.

Wear something so u can get out. The water is very shallow where they drop you off.

The Scioto Livery offered a scenic self guided excursion. They provide the equipment and you are on your own. I'd do it again.

We had a very nice, leisurely, quiet trip and our dog loved it! I would like to go back in the summer but a fall trip down the river was very nice!
