As of 2018 T.J. Gillespie has partnered with Abandoned Pet Rescue, Broward county's no-kill shelter, to bring aid to cats and dogs in need. Together, we can help 100's of animals live a healthy life until they find their forever home. Any student that arrives at class with $5 or more in cat or dog food will get a $5 cash back credit at time of class. Just provide the receipt of your purchase. Of course, cash donations are always welcome, in lieu of or in addition to food donations. During class T.J. emphasizes hands-on practice over long lectures, and patiently guides pupils through adjusting aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. By spending time indoors and outdoors, T.J.'s apprentices discover how to work around various light conditions and how to capture subjects in focus while the background is out of focus.

It is obvious that TJ is very passionate about photography and truly wants to teach that passion to others. This was a fast-paced introduction to the manual settings on my DSLR that has taught me enough to get to practicing on my own. I highly recommend!

I am writing on behalf of my wife; she received this class as a gift to accompany her DSLR camera. Prior to the class she had little photography experience. She very much enjoyed the class and learned much more than she had hoped. Although a novice she did not feel the class was beyond her and Mr. Gillespie spoke not only about the technical elements of taking photographs but also the artistic elements. She would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to learn more about digital photography.

This was a wonderful class! A dedicated and patient instructor who makes the world of dlsr photography attainable. Hands-on workshop left me with the satisfaction of learning new skills.

Very knowledgeable teacher and great way to begin to learn how to use your DLSR camera. I've had my camera for 4+ years and this is the first time that I actually know what things mean ON the camera! Also, his tips for taking pics and doing it hands-on actually helped me tremendously (I can learn in a class - but I learn better by actually doing!). Thanks TJ!
