As mall patrons pass bearing shopping bags and food court treats, skaters sail across a blanket of ice in a rink that has rested on the ground level of the Galleria for more than 30 years. Olympian ice skater Evan Lysacek noted in his 2011 article, 10 Great Places to Ice Skate in the USA, the awe-inducing sights granted by the towering atrium above the rink, a feature that gives the confines a spacious feel. The frozen pond offers skaters weekend jam sessions with a live DJ, and enables nonskaters to watch the twirling action from platforms located on the second story.

Perfect way to enjoy done kids time at the mall. the first hour is used to tech the kids how to maneuver on the ice and then they use what they've learned to try and skate. my gran didn't do much actual skating but she meet some girls her age and bubbled around with them till we decided to leave.
good value and time well spent. they are benches for the parents, lockers for your valuable and friendly attendants who are willing to offer their help in any way necessary. the instructor was wonderful with the kids, she shows them what beginners do and then demonstrated what a professional skater looks like.
there were many great skaters on the ice after the rink was opened so you could see the potential of investing in skating lessons if you have them available.

I brought my daughter for a group lesson on a night that apparently there were none, but an employee, "Pat" from Pearland bent over backwards to make sure that my daughter was able to skate that evening. She ended up with a private 1 hour lesson with " Ruffino," who is a fantastic instructor. We could not have been more pleased. We will be going back for ice skating lessons during their next open enrollment. I would highly recommend the Galleria Ice Skating Rink !

The instructor had too many kids, but the kids had fun. We ice skated after the lesson which was very nice. The ice conditions were very good and it wasn't crowded.
