About Schartner Farms

Schartner Farms has a history that stretches even longer than its annual corn maze. After immigrating to the United States in 1902, the Schartner family settled in Bolton and opened a farm. For the next century, multiple generations of the family milked cows and filled the soil with seeds to grow fruits, vegetables, and cheeseburgers. The farm became something of a local landmark, and in 2006, the town of Bolton and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts designated it an Agricultural Preservation Restriction Farm.

Today, the fourth generation of Schartners runs the farm. Aside from the signature corn maze, they invite visitors to pick apples, and relax on hayrides, which wind past the property's forests, fields, and ponds.

We had a great time finding our way through the maze. There was a fun folk band playing music and loved the apple cider!

Amazing hidden jewel 😄😄😄. This place has so much to do and my boys love it. They hayride, corn maze and animals keep them busy for hours. Plus hot cider donuts makes for one happy mommy.

Nice family atmosphere & no lines to wait in. You will want to pack a lunch or bring a picnic basket; only food to purchase there is hot dogs. Restrooms are porta-potty's, but were very clean. Worth the price of admission.

It gets crowded with patrons clustering at the wine tasting stations sprinkled inside the maze. We found that a little annoying - because it made continuing through the maze a little slow as you stood behind people not moving. It seemed a lot smaller (from entrance to exit) than we imagined or read on online reviews. It takes about 30 minutes to get through or 15 if you are walking continuously. There was a trio musical group who were really fun - though at the end of each song, patrons just sat there blankly and silently. No one clapped, which we found odd. Perhaps people were just overwhelmed at the sheer # of people and strollers walking about.
