Traders Point Winery, Indianapolis4.6392 reviewsAbout Traders Point Winery
A jug of dandelion wine—fermented in 1994—marked the beginnings of Traders Point Winery. The winery's vintner, Bill, was just beginning to delve into amateur winemaking at the time, working in the century-old root cellar beneath his historic home. He kept at the craft in the years that followed, learning to create wines using a variety of techniques. Eventually, he entered a few bottles into the Indy International Wine Competition, earning praise from judges as well as everyday wine-lovers wearing judge costumes in order to receive free tastes. Bill and his family decided to take the next step and open their own winery.
Today, they welcome guests to sample award-winning varietals at their Indianapolis winery. They pour glasses of crisp chardonnay, sweet red wine made from concord grapes. There are plenty of dessert wines, too, including a 50/50 blend of Rhubarb and Strawberry.
