About SnapShotSandy

Before Sandy Horvath retired from his career as a sales manager, he spent his spare time chronicling the lives of his loved ones and documenting his own travels throughout the world. Over time, his love for his craft blossomed into a thirst to become an admired photographer, so Sandy started submitting his action-packed sports photos to newspapers and magazines. With the publication of his work came professional status and a desire to share his knowledge with others. His first opportunity arose in 2009 when the Si View Metropolitan Park District asked him to teach a class. Soon after, the Issaquah Parks District clamored for Sandy's expertise; he now has over 2000 Club SnapShot students and more joining every day.

Today, Sandy teaches students of all ages and skill levels how to transform snapshots into high-quality pictures with lenses, settings, and exposures during his basic, advanced, and creative classes. He loves helping novice shutterbugs abandon automatic settings—the training wheels of photography—and create memorable images with nothing but manual settings and high-tech freeze rays.

Class is fantastic. He know his stuff and how to impart it to others. He is excellent with details and willing to share his amazing talent of taking great pictures. He demonstrates the concepts he is explaining then gives time to try them out and again checks to see if you are having any trouble. Great class!

I really enjoyed the presentation and thought the instruction to be pretty clear and understandable, however, I think I'll be needing to take the class over again to understand it even better.

Great class, learned a lot. Would have liked it if we had reviewed some of the photos we took as a class. Seemed like we ran out of time.

In the photography 101 class, Sandy was very good explaining to the class the basic fundamentals of a digital camera, particularly the aperture, shutter speed and ISO. He provided numerous photo examples and gave the class opportunities to practice taking pictures both indoors and outdoors. I learned a lot from him during the three hour workshop and feel more confident on how to use my camera. I highly recommend this workshop.

It has a lot of information and Sandy is great at explaining. I have been to other courses and this is the best one. I recommend it to anyone who has never used the manual features of a camera.

Class was a good balance of slides as examples, lecture, interaction, and practice. Sandy is very friendly and enthusiastic about his classes, seeking to enhance abilities of participants. I've attended other photography classes, and this one was still able to add new and helpful information. Class size is relatively small which allows for questions and answers. Very worthwhile Saturday afternoon.
