About Korner's Folly

It's almost as if Jule Gilmer Körner's home was designed to be a public attraction. In 1878, the decorator, painter, and interior and furniture designer began building a house specifically intended to showcase his myriad talents. The result was a whimsical Victorian creation where each room brings new and unexpected surprises, including a total of 15 unique fireplaces and ceilings that range from 5 to 25 feet high.

• Size: Self-guided tours take around 60 minutes as groups explore 22 rooms spread across three floors.
• Eye Catcher: The reception room exemplifies Victorian style with elegant woodwork and ceiling featuring ornate murals and cove molding.
• Permanent Mainstay: On the top level, Cupid's Park Theater—originally built for Körner's children—hosts regular shows by local performers, continuing a tradition that began in 1897.
