About Westcave Preserve a part of Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center

In 1976, a group of like-minded people came together with one goal: to restore the Hill Country Grotto to its previous state of beauty and tranquility. Nearly 40 years later, the Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center considers that mission accomplished, and the team behind it has moved on to a new endeavor. Today, it advocates for protecting nature and helping others, especially young people, to fall in love with the great outdoors. Leading the Children in Nature Collaborative of Austin, kids are taught to be comfortable out in the wild at an early age.

Really beautiful! Very short hike, If you were going to do it without a guide you could probably do it in 20 minutes. They really take the time to tell you about the area. They are very passionate.

Very knowledgeable guide. Some steep rugged steps (some slippery where wet). Beautiful place.

This is truly a hidden Texas treasure. The tours were great informative and interactive. We had 4 children ranging from 13-3 and each of them enjoyed it. Would definitely come back and bring family and friends.
