N.Y. Cab & Limo Co. might seem an unlikely name for a cab company that started in Clearwater, Florida. However, the company's original fleet consisted of two vintage Checker cabs, once iconic denizens of New York City's streets. The name was born.

Over the years, that initial two-cab fleet has grown substantially. It now encompasses more than 30 vehicles, from Lincoln town cars to party buses that run on a mix of gas and glitter. The cabbies still drive vintage Checker cabs, though—in fact, the company's fleet of Checker cabs is the largest in North America.
