About Sapora Playworld

Beneath the lofty ceiling at Carlson Ice Arena’s year-round rink gleams 17,000 square feet of well-groomed ice. Rented skates clasp guests’ ankles as they slice across its frozen surface during public skate sessions, and pupils in hockey and figure-skating classes learn to deftly maneuver blades to score slap shots, land lutzes, and scrawl cursive love notes for Zamboni drivers. Chilly fingers defrost as guests lounge in the 600-seat spectator stands, and iceless recreation areas such as the soft, three-level Sapora Playworld or the Tiny Tots Playspace host troupes of carousing kids.

Don't let the fun end with the skating. Pack a lunch and take advantage of the seating area (tables included) and watch the lessons taking place!

If you have children that want to use an ice walker to help stabilize them get one as soon as you get your skates because they only have a short supply. Although we did this our son had his taken away from someone else so keep an eye on it as well.

Get there 15mns before the doors open, to get your skates on (families) and if you have little one who have not skated before, there are skate walkers they can use. Ask for them right away, they go fast..

My 8yr old granddaughter had just finished her first four lessons and this was timely, as we gave it to her so she can continue. She loves it.

My daughters are 5 and 7 and don't have ice skating experience. I would advise getting a "walker" to help your child build there confidence (and they go fast). That being said, both girls LOVED it and my husband enjoyed doing something active and new with the kids - especially in this long winter we've had!
