Wisconsin-based Shield Defense Firearm Training offers real-world-inspired training sessions for students of all experience levels. Basic shooting courses provide pupils with the fundamentals of safely handling and maintaining handguns, whereas private lessons refine their form and technique. The instructors also lead concealed-carry courses.

Tom David and Paul Hicks founded Shield Defense Firearm Training after noticing how intimidated new firearm owners were by their purchase. Although the NRA-certified instructors focus on making students feel more confident and comfortable around firearms, they also emphasize safety and responsibility.
