About Sail Away Sailing School, LLC

Atop the windswept crests of Lake Minnetonka and Lake Superior, Sail Away Sailing School, LLC, instructors lead lessons for all levels. They're certified by the American Sailing Association and trained in CPR and first aid–and many are US Coast Guard-licensed captains–ensuring expertise and safety during aquatic adventures. Students can gain insight into their expertise during any of the three courses offered. Students may start with Sailing Discovery or Sailing Skills course, or start right in with Basic Keelboat ASA 101, which is a learn-to-sail course for those with no sailing experience. The next step toward captaining a vessel are the Basic Keelboat and Cruising courses, which teach in-depth safety, motoring, and sailing techniques.

With navigation mastered, instructors let students get even more adventurous with the Advanced Coastal Cruising course which includes overnight sailing and fire safety techniques, as well as what to do if someone goes overboard at nighttime. The team also gives private instruction on their own boats and students' boats, and even arranges for a mix of vacation and schooling with Virgin Island and Southern California courses. They also offer the ASA 104 Bareboat Chartering course which is needed to operate boats in multiple foreign countries.
