Tim is a walking treasure of information. I live nearby and have taken the tour twice because I learned so much and Tim Thomas is so entertaining. I highly recommend taking advantage of this tour.

Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for lots of great information. This information will supplement and/or possibly alter what you previously believed about the City of Monterey, the canning and fishing industries, and the cultural landscapes of the area. We truly enjoyed the tour, learned a lot, and had tons of fun.

We've been to Monterey a number of times, but were interested in learning about the behind the scenes history of Cannery Row. Local historian Tim Thomas was just the ticket! Incredibly knowledgeable about all things related to the people, geography, and history of Monterey Bay, Tim's narration never lagged. It was very entertaining, well paced, and his fishing creel and backpack were filled with interesting memorabilia and artifacts. We highly recommend this tour, and I would book another different tour with Tim on our next visit.
