About Salt Shaker Marine

For years, Captain Sonny Kay plied the waters of the Caribbean in his yacht, the Saltshaker. Then, in 1983, he headed north to Lake Norman to share the joy of boating with others. Over the years, he amassed a fleet of other watercraft, and though he's since retired, Brian and Nichole MacArthur carry on his legacy today at Saltshaker Marine. Depending on the type of aquatic adventure folks are looking for, the duo puts together custom rental packages for pontoons and wave-runners.

Overall experience with Saltshaker Marine was good. The deposit required when booking the boat was supposed to be reimbursed same day when the boat was returned but it took almost a week to get it back to us. We were ok with that but something to know up front.

Be aware that there is an additional 3% fee added , if you pay by credit card. You can avoid the additional fee by paying cash.

I struggled to get a hold of them to make the original reservation. I tried phone, email, and even Facebook! Once they confirmed and we came out, the service was great. Wes showed us how to use the equipment and everything. We had a great time and plan to use them again in the future.
