About Passage to India Restaurant

Passage to India occupies a former jazz club on 17 Main, but its food creates a harmony all its own. Vibrant vegetarian specialties dot the menu at this Mount Kisco establishment, though you'll also find plenty of protein choices, including seafood, lamb, and poultry, as in such popular dishes as chicken samucha. Conveniently, meals can also be ordered as carryout, an ideal option for customers who like to sneak away from games of hide-and-seek for a quick bite.

I asked to trade a glass of wine for a dessert at the same price and they wouldn't allow it. The server was rude and since the restaurant was empty, you would think they would care about returning business.

Waiter had on a baseball cap and a soiled shirt. Food came in OK time but there was no real service displayed. When he first came by - no hello or anything. Just asked, "Are you ready yet?" Food was ok. Not great. Restaurant has really gone downhill. Dimly lit and generally uncared for.

The food is good. Very few customers while other restaurants on the same block are busy. Wait staff were difficult to understand and not polite.
